Hester Sachse, Executive Manager of the Church Hill Theatre, first came to the Eastern Shore as a student of Washington College, graduating in 2009 and majoring in Theatre, where she directed Much Ado About Nothing for her senior thesis.  Since graduation, she has divided her time between Maryland and her original home state of New York, living and working in Poughkeepsie, Manhattan, Chestertown and Baltimore.  Hester feels like she’s settled in the area for good, and recently purchased a lovely Victorian home to paint, fix up and furnish over the next 30 years.  She has been an active volunteer in the theatre scene, often acting on the Garfield stage, and recently as a stage manager for Shore Shakespeare Company.  She is delighted to be welcomed to Church Hill Theatre, and looks forward to being able to maintain and grow the wonderful works that Church Hill Theatre offers.

Liz Clarke is a veteran of the Church Hill Theatre, and has been heavily involved in productions here since 2002. Some of her notable experiences include playing Candy Starr in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and directing Five Women Wearing the Same Dress in 2013, and Visit to a Small Planet in 2016. Liz also oversees the theatre program at The Gunston School in Centreville, where she recently directed Metamorphoses, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and The Spoon River Project. Clarke is overjoyed to be a part of an organization that provides incredible opportunities to our youth; having grown up locally, the strides Church Hill Theatre has made to give back to our community are quite apparent to her.
